Defence Virtual Race Around Australia

Monday 4th May

The DCC team are excited to join other Defence Community Centres from around in the "Defence Virtual Race Around Australia" ALL DCC members (Defence & Non Defence) are invited to join in.

This virtual walking challenge is a chance to travel around Australia whilst staying in your own home or suburb. Your steps/km will count towards your team’s total while you walk the dog, take the kids for a bike ride, walk round the block or simply around your lounge room.  

All you need is a smart watch (apple, fitbit, garmin etc) or a smart phone….. they all measure your steps. Lets walk, run, ride & swim (if possible) around Australia. Partners and kids are also able to sign up as long as they have a way to track their steps.

The route is 14,080km which translates to 17,600,000 steps……. Which is where the team effort comes in. Let's race the other community centres around Australia, and see who can get the furthest in this 12 Week challenge.

The challenge is sponsored by Defence Health! There will be team & individual prizes.

We will be tracking our steps/km's via the 10000 step website & downloaded app. For those joining in, after you have registered below, please sign up https://www.10000steps.org.au/ & download the app to be ready to start.
