About Us

The Duntroon Community Centre is "a place to belong" where everyone is welcome, Defence and non Defence members from Canberra and the surrounding regions.

Our facilities in the grounds of The Royal Military College Duntroon cater to children and adults alike.

Different programs and events are aimed at children, adults and families together.

History
Opened originally in 1981, The Duntroon Community Centre has always offered Defence families a place to go for companionship and support. It was incorporated in May 1992 and the playschool program started soon after.

Moving to our current location in July 2003, we are in a fabulous facility allowing the centre to evolve into what it is today.
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

A voluntary committee manages the Duntroon Community Centre ensuring that our objectives are being met. All members are encouraged to attend monthly meetings noting fresh faces and ideas are important in developing engaging programs now and into the future. Members can also nominate as Management Committee members at the AGM.

COMMUNICATION

The Centre maintains a regular newsletter, a facebook page and information notice boards in the centre.

FUNDING

We are a not-for-profit organisation, relying on grants to fund activities and volunteers to assist our small staff group as required.

The Duntroon Community Centre is a recipient of Defence Community Organisations Family Support Funding Program grant for the 02 5131 1715 financial year and the Community Support Coordinator Program grant for the 02 5131 1715 financial year.

The funding goes to operational costs and contributes to some programs at the centre.

Fundraising
To help keep costs for members at a minimum we run a range of fundraising activities throughout the year. We value the attendance and support of our members and the wider public at these events.
